CWC at Kochi- gist of discussions held



 


  The CWC of the Association was held at Hotel K.K.International, Kochi on 08.05.15. The main agenda was to pay tribute and homage to our former president Shri. T. M. Krishnaswamy who left us for heavenly abode and also to decide the venue of our proposed  All India CWC to be held at TVM on 25 &26 July. More than 3/4th of the CWC members participated in the meeting which stood out by the active participation of all the members in the discussions and deliberations held on the day.

The meeting started with a silent prayer paying homage to our former president, which was followed by the Presidential Address by Sri. Venunathan Pillai wherein our President gave a broad outline about the All India scenario and also touched upon the local issues. He stressed the importance of periodical group meetings in the Divisions itself which will boost the morale of our members. The Presidential Address was followed by a brief report by the Circle Secretary of the activities carried out so far in the Circle and also about the All India issues and the stand of our Circle on these issues. Thereafter the house went into the various items in the agenda and indulged in detailed discussions on all these issues.  

        The condolence meeting commenced with speech of Sri.R.Venunathanpillai, President. He shared his long relationship with our former president stressing upon the sincerity and commitment which he had shown both towards the department and also our Association. He reiterated that the untimely demise of Sri. Krishnaswamy was indeed a big loss to our cadre and the void left behind by his demise will be hard to fill.   Our CS  Sri.Nandakumar, former secretary Sri. Ajithkurian and Smt. Sudha, ASP,Kozhikode  also shared their experiences with our former president and expressed their condolences and offered their prayers to the family.  
       
      Regarding the next agenda of All India CWC, the house decided to to conduct the All India CWC at Trivandrum on 25th and 26th July and to name the venue of the meeting  as T M Krishanswamy Nagar as a token of respect to our former President. The house arrived at a tentative budget of Rs 2 lakhs for conducting the CWC and hence decided to raise funds by accepting contributions from all the members @ Rs 1500/- from each member. The CWC entrusted all the CWC members to coordinate the collection at their respective and neighbouring Divisions. The house entrusted Sri. Ajith Kurian, former CS to fix up the venue at a suitable hotel near to the railway station in Trivandrum and to intimate the venue to the GS to so as to enable the CHQ to issue notification for the All India CWC.

     As regards other local issues, all the members expressed deep anguish and protest over the tendency of penalising and charge sheeting and effecting recovery on IP/ASPs for misappropriation and frauds made by some of the staff, totally evading action against those who have actually committed these frauds. The CWC expressed strong protest and indignation against the tendency and decided  to protest strongly and to  bring  the matter to the notice of CPMG/PMGs. The CWC also decided to seek judicial remedy if need be in such cases.  

    Regarding other issues, the CWC congratulated our GS in the progress of Merger proposal. As for our Grade Pay case, the house decided to await the outcome of the OA which is posted for 18.06.15 for final hearing. Non awareness among IP/ASP about the IT modernisation and new technology initiatives of the department was also discussed and the members suggested that there is a need for training in the field of Technology and application software to carry out inspections without any hurdles. It was decided to bring the matter to the notice of CPMG  to  arrange training programmes to IP/ASPs  in the field. The meeting ended with thanks to the chair.
