As announced, a workshop on Trade Union Rights was held at Hotel Harbour View Residency, Kochi on 10.11.12. The workshop commenced at 10.30 AM with a welcome/introductory address by Sri. Ajith Kurian, CS. A small presentation throwing light into the activities/scope, objectives, set up etc of PSI was also shown. Thereafter, Sri. G. Gopakumar (PWG member) gave a lecture on Trade Union Rights and International Labour Organization with the help of a PP presentation. The various TURs available to an employee/union/association was discussed in detail. An introduction into activities of ILO was also presented. This was followed by a lecture by Sri. K. Manoj (Treasurer) on CCS Conduct Rules and how the said Rules are used to curb the TURs. Thereafter, Sri. R. Kannan (PSI South Asia) gave a lecture throwing light into the various instances of TUR violations in India and also around the globe. The meeting came to an end with vote of thanks by the CS.
