It has been ascertained that orders have been issued by CO (Staff Section) directing ASPs to vacate the 8 PM posts in our Circle with immediate effect causing much hardship and difficulties to our members holding these posts and adversely affecting the promotional avenues of our IPs and thereby affecting our cadre as a whole. This order (copy furnished below) has been issued without any specific orders/directions from Directorate relying on the new recruitment rules for Postmaster cadre and also on an order issued by Directorate as early as in Feb 2011. Considering the seriousness of the matter, our CS has contacted Chief PMG and discussed the matter in detail and requested his immediate intervention in the matter. Chief PMG, after hearing our side, has agreed to keep the said order in abeyance for the time being. Association has requested for an appointment with Chief for having a detailed discussion in the matter. Our GS has also been requested to intervene in the matter and he is also expected to contact our Chief PMG directly considering the gravity of the case. All members are requested to rally behind our Association to protest against this unwarranted and unprecedented move to destroy our cadre.
